Our Plein Air Concerts return to our jewel-box courtyard! Enjoy an hour of music with your friends while sipping rosé wine in an intimate setting. We cover the range from jazz to chanson, and classic songbook to mélodie française. Featuring renowned Chicago entertainer Greta Pope; the French jazz woman, harpist and composer Isabelle Olivier; and Nathalie Colas, the silky soprano and music advocate born in Strasbourg.

Tonight’s program: Ada and Cole… Une Amitié Spéciale

Let’s get transported to Paris in the 20s! This is the story in songs of the special friendship between Parisian club owner Ada “Bricktop” Smith and legendary composer Cole Porter. She taught him how to Charleston, he wrote “Miss Otis Regrets” for her. With pianist Paul Coscino.

Door opens at 6:00 p.m. Live music starts at 6:30 p.m. Please enter via 810 N. Dearborn. Each table of four includes one bottle of Rosé de Provence and salted nuts. Reserve early! Seating is limited in our intimate courtyard. Weather permitting otherwise event moves indoors in our salon.

About Greta Pope:

Award-winning and internationally acclaimed entertainer Greta Pope has delighted audiences throughout Europe, the Far East, South America and the Caribbean, as well as the United States and Canada. Touted as one of the great voices of our time, she has shared the stage with such well-known performers as Wynonna Judd, Dick Van Dyke, Stanley Clarke, Ramsey Lewis, Rich Little, Penn & Teller, Boy George and many others.

The daughter-in-law of legendary Duke Ellington vocalist Kay Davis, Greta Pope has developed an engaging one-woman show entitled Duke Ellington…The Man…The Music…The Legend! and also performs “Paris Noir…American Jazz in Paris,” “Greta Pope Sings The American Songbook,” and “An Evening with the Music of Cole Porter.” Her new show, “Motown…Pride of the Motor City!” has the audience dancing in their seats as Greta and the guys perform all of the hits from the Motown Era.

Additionally, Greta Pope holds a Bachelor of Music Degree, a Master of Music Degree and has studied at Indiana University with the brilliant Metropolitan Opera soprano Eileen Farrell. Greta Pope is a Ph.D. in Business and is the author of self-help book Music, Money & You; Managing the Business, now available at leading booksellers nationwide. Dr. Greta Pope is founder, producer and host of The Business Savvy Singer Podcast available on all major platforms.
