The popular Swaré Konpa with DJ Frantz moves from the Haitian American Museum of Chicago to the Alliance for one night only from 8 to 11 p.m.! Everybody is invited to get initiated to the romantic moves of the Konpa by our dance teachers. Haitian menu available for purchase on-site, $5/a plate. Admission includes a ticket for one Haitian beer or a glass of French wine for participants 21 years and older.
There will be a demonstration class at 7:30 p.m., so don’t be shy and and discover your dancing talent.

What is konpa?
Konpa is derived from a Spanish word that means beat or rhythm. Konpa is often sung in Haitian Creole, and is usually played with a very slow tempo. Have a look at Konpa demo here!
